Gatina is owned by the Mugaga Farmer’s Society, renowned for its high-quality coffees and social responsibility. A third of their members are women, which is impressive compared to many other coopera- tive gender ratios. We have roasted this Peaberry microlot to highlight the soaring acidity of the beans while maintaining delicate fruits and enough sweetness to balance the cup. It is a shining example of what Kenyan coffee can be: loaded with fresh fruit flavors and fruit juice sweetness. The cup is about as complex as they come: "Kenya" coffee all the way. We are extremely excited to share this coffee with you! Enjoy!

* PB stands for Peaberry. Peaberries are the result of a natural mutation in the coffee cherry. Whereas there are usually a pair of flat-sided beans nestled together in each berry, in a peaberry mutation, only one oval bean forms. Peaberries produce a somewhat different (often better) cup than normal beans from the same crop.
