Masha, one of the most famous washing stations in Burundi, is always highly ranked at the Burundi Cup of Excellence competitions. The washing station sits at 1672 meters above sea level and processes the coffee of over 2000 smallholder farms in the area. The cherries are pulped and “dry fermented” up to twelve hours, then washed in clean mountain water for 12-24 hours. After being soaked for an additional 12-18 hours, they are dried on raised beds. Masha’s cup quality and intense sweetness stood out at our cupping table. You will be delighted by intense notes of almond biscuits and a fruity bouquet of berries.
